Established in the year 1978, Modern Education Society's College of Education is a flagship institution for education. The college offers co-educational education to aspirant teachers and is located at Vita, Tal. Khanapur, Dist. Sangli, Maharashtra. It has been doing so for more than four decades now. The college accredits NAAC and runs under the approval of NCTE. Being an affiliated college, it conducts several teacher education programmes catering to a total enrolment of 116 students with a faculty strength of 9 dedicated educators.

Modern Education Society's College of Education has various facilities to help enhance student learning. The students can avail themselves of the good facilities of well-equipped libraries acting as hub knowledge to them. It recognises the need to maintain physical well-being. For this reason, the college provides sports facilities and encourages a balanced approach in its pursuit of education. The college stays at par with the ICT-intensive world of the modern digital age with its excellent IT infrastructure, comprising 30 computers with broadband connections and language lab software, all at once accommodating 30 students. To maintain the health and safety of its students, there is a medical facility with first aid services on campus, which is further aided by a consulting physician, Dr. Bhushan Deschougule. The college provides practical learning experiences by well-equipped laboratories. It provides hostel accommodation to female students for their safe study environment. 

Modern Education Society's College of Education, Sangli, offers three courses in education. This college offers a diversified pathway towards teacher education at different levels. Three courses offered by the college have an approved student intake of 200 that makes it appear capable of producing hundreds of future teachers every year. 

Admission process by Modern Education Society's College of Education, Sangli: There is a transparent procedure and by the regular norms for the admissions. The responsibility of the admission procedure for the B.Ed and M.Ed courses is handled by the Maharashtra Vinaanudan Adhyapak Mahavidyalaya Sansthachalak Association.  The college maintains a balance approach in terms of admissions as it provides the same number of seats to open category students and reserved categories, hence, providing equal opportunities to both students seeking admission in the institution.
