Natesan Institute of Cooperative Management, Chennai was formed in the year of 1954 in Anna Nagar, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. This is a recognised government aided college recognised with AICTE and is acknowledged for the excellent management courses it offers. The NICM Chennai has a MBA programme for which 60 seats are available in the university of Madras [ref 3 and 4]. This institute has small, well developed 5 acre campus, In terms of strength it has 70 students and 3 faculty members. More so, NICM Chennai focuses on management studies; and the institute strongly promotes cooperative management.
Natesan Institute of Cooperative Management has various facilities to enable an organization and comfortable environment for learning for the students. Enormous importance is given for the out-station students that the campus of NICM Chennai has separated hostels for boys and girls separately so that boys and girls only dwell together. The institute has a well stocked library with the large number of books required to fulfill the academic requirement of students. For health clubbing and recreational activities there exists a gym and different play fields for football, volley ball and throw ball etc. For its part, the campus has an events and seminars facility in an auditorium, canteen for students and staff, besides a health facility with Integrated First Aid Stations. Besides, there facilities that are been offered by the institute include IT infrastructure for the effective implementation of the modality of learning and a guest house for the visiting faculty and students’ relatives.
NICM Chennai offers a comprehensive programme commitment to academic programmes and services, mainly driven by its two-year MBA programme. It being a two-year programme offered on a full time basis, aims to deliver effective knowledge in principles of management especially cooperative management.
It conducts admission to NICM Chennai based on the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) conducted by Anna University on behalf of the Govt. of Tamil Nadu.
