About NFSC Nagpur

The National Fire Service College, Nagpur was established in 1956. It is a government college functioning under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

NFSC Nagpur is an affiliated college of the Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur (also known as RTM University, Nagpur). The college provides undergraduate courses in the Engineering and Architecture stream.

NFSC Nagpur courses include the Bachelor of Engineering (BE) (Fire Engineering) programme with a course duration of four years. NFSC Nagpur fees for the first year of the course are Rs 48,000. The minimum eligibility criteria are passing 10+2 or equivalent examinations with English, Physics, Mathematics and one of Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology or any other appropriate subject with a minimum of 45% aggregate.

Candidates must satisfy the NFSC Nagpur eligibility criteria for admission. NFSC Nagpur admissions to the BE Fire Engineering programme are offered on the basis of the All India Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main).

After qualifying for the examination, candidates must appear in the counselling session conducted by the university. For final selection, candidates must appear for Physical Fitness and Medical tests. The college has a placement cell that provides employment opportunities to students.

The NFSC Nagpur average package for UG 4-year students is found to be Rs. 13,50,000 in the academic year 2021-22. The college provides many facilities to the students to provide them with a hassle-free campus life. NFSC Nagpur facilities include a library, hostels, laboratories, sports facilities and many more.

As of now, the college is equipped with most of the basic infrastructural buildings like the Administrative block, Academic block, Fire ground, Hostel with the mess, Laboratory building, Auditorium but many other facilities like a canteen and specialized sports complex etc are planned and are under construction.

What are job prospects after completing Btech/be degree in fire engineering from national fire service college?

Dear aspirant,

There are numerous scopes after fire engineering. You can choose government or private sector. Your job will revolve around ensuring fire safety and reducing casualities in times of distress. Companies that are prone to have a lot of fire accidents like fertilizer industry, chemical factories will hire a fire engineer. Under government sectors you have an opportunity of getting hired into defense forces, railways, airport, ONGC, refineries etc.

You have an option of getting about 15 - 20 LPA in government sector and about 20 - 25 LPA in private sector.

Hello Shivanshu, Your percentile is 85 in JEE MAINS , so it seems difficult to say that you can get a seat in NFSC Nagpur or not.

However, at this percentile if you qualify the cutoff for the college, you can apply for seat through JOSAA Counselling and the cutoff also depends on category. For categories other than GENERAL, it might be easy to get the seat in the college at this percentile.
