The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) was established in 1995. It is a leading institute of fashion education in the country. NIFT is a well-known institution that is responsible for turning learners into professionals so that they can achieve their dreams.
NIFT was made a statutory institute in 2006 by an act of the Indian Parliament with the President of India as the visitor. The institute has a full-fledged campus all across the country and is also responsible for providing knowledge of the area of design development and positioning of handlooms and handicrafts to the Union and State government.
NIFT has a record of providing quality UG, PG and Doctorate level courses in fashion pertaining to design, technology and management such as B.Des Fashion Design, B.Des Fashion Communication, MFM, M.F.Tech Apparel Production to encourage and enhance the talent of the students in order to make India an emerging global industry of textiles and crafts.

The campus of NIFT in Gandhinagar is located in a lush green area. However, Initially, the Government of Gujarat allotted the institute a temporary building at sector 26, Gandhinagar, Gujarat but then they were allotted a plot of 20,000 sq. mt. land near Infocity in 2004.
Subsequently, the institute was provided with an additional 10,000 sq. mt. land for the accommodation of the Girls’ Hostel. One can reach the institute via railway, the nearest railway station to the campus is Gandhinagar Railway Station. One can commute to the campus via the following address:
