Navodaya Institute of Technology (NIT-R) was established in 2008 by the Navodaya Education Trust (NET). The NIT Raichur is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi. NIT offers courses such as B. E. in Computer Science Engineering (CSE), Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE), Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Information & Science Engineering (ISE), Civil Engineering (CE) and Mechanical Engineering (ME). Navodaya Institute of Technology also offers two PG programmes M. Tech – Thermal Power Engineering and M. Tech. – Digital Communication & Networking. NIT Raichur B.E. admissions are based on KCET, while M.Tech. admissions are based on GATE. The admission process involves a two-step process; appearing for the entrance exam and a selection process based on performance.
