Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports, Patiala India which is also Asia’s largest Sports Institute is located in the stately monumental building and sprawling lawns were built by the former Maharaja of Patiala whose descendants dedicated this complex for the promotion of sports to the people of India. The Institute was renamed Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports (NSNIS) on January 23, 1973.
NSNIS Patiala courses include M.sc. (Sports Coaching), PG Diploma In Sports Medicine, Diploma In Sports Coaching, Diploma In Integrated Sports Massage, Certificate Courses In Sports Coaching, Skill Development Certificate Courses, Advanced Courses For In-service Coaches, Refresher Course In Sports Coaching, Sports Massage Course, and Ground Management Course. “New Sports Courses” shall be introduced shortly.
NIS Patiala fees for Post Graduate Diploma In Sports Medicine, for the First Year is Rs. 40,000/- and for the Second Year is Rs. 45,000/-. PGDSM students will get a stipend equivalent to Rs.15600 - 39100 + Rs.5400 grade pay + DA as admissible from time to time. In-Service/Sponsored candidates will not get any stipend.
NSNIS Patiala Placement Cell serves the purpose of assisting students in attaining placements. Students are prepared for coachers/ trainees through effective training programs based on communication skills, sports performance, and personality development.
The NSNIS Patiala facilities include 115 rooms, including an office, library, museum, classrooms and staff club. The institute has 4 hostels to accommodate students, national players and coaches. NSNIS Patiala hostel offers breakfast, lunch, evening tea, and dinner.
The institute has a guest house with a lounge and conference hall in the green belt. The Department of Sports Medicine provides all medical assistance to players, students and staff.

College Infrastructure
Infrastructre wise NSNIS is one of the best institute in India for sports. The playing ground are well maintained. There are different grounds and courts for different sports. Apart from this institute has hygenic mess also which provides you good healthy food.
