The college and is affiliated with the Thrissur district, Kerala. Nirmala College of Arts and Science, Chalakkudy, offers numerous undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various streams. Merit-based admission at Nirmala College gives a fair chance to applicants from different sections of society. For admissions, centralized applications are conducted from May-June for the academic year, which commences between August-September annually. One of the key eligibility conditions is that for any undergraduate program, applicants should have qualified +2 or equivalent from any recognized board. Due weightage to performance in qualifying examinations has been given in the admission process facilitating admission of deserving applicants very much endowed with sound academic knowledge in pursuing fields of choice.

Application Process

The admission procedure at Nirmala College of Arts and Science, Chalakkudy, is as follows:-

1. Announcement: Usually, the admission notification will be published in the official website and the local newspapers around May-June.

2. Application Form: Candidates can procure the admission application form either from the college office or downloaded from the college's official website.

3. Filling Up of Form: The candidate must accurately fill in the application form, stating all necessary personal and academic details.

4. Submission of Documents : The following documents should be submitted along with the duly filled application form:

• 10th and 12th marksheet (original and photocopy)
• Transfer Certificate
• Conduct Certificate
• Caste Certificate (if applicable for reservation candidates)
• Recent passport-size photographs

5. Submission of Application: The duly signed application form has to be submitted along with the necessary documents to the college office on or before the last date.

6. Merit list: The merit list prepares by considering the scores of the applicants in the qualifying examinations. 

7. Counseling and Admission: The candidates in the list will be called up for a counseling session for the selection of the course of their choice in this order of merit and availability of seats.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Com: B.Com courses having specialization in Finance, Computer Application and Cooperation. Admission is given based on the marks of the qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent) emphasizing commerce subjects.

BBA: The selection for the Bachelor of Business Administration program will be based on the students' performance on the 10+2 exam. Babies from the commerce and similar fields are promised consideration.

BCA: The admission into the Bachelor of Computer Applications program is entirely based on students' results from their 10+2 grade mathematics and computer science subject scores.

B.Sc: Nirmala College has 4 B.Sc courses covering Computer Science, Information Technology, Food Technology, Hotel Management and Culinary Arts. Admissions will rely on the marks of the relevant science subjects in the 10+2 examination.

BA: There are two BA programs offered at the college, namely Multimedia and BA with English Language and Literature with Journalism. Admission is based on the qualifying examination marks keeping in mind any criterions applicable for relevant subject-specific admission. 

BTTM and BTHM: The BTTM and BTHM courses are open for consideration based on the overall academic record in 10+2, where some extra marks are given to candidates possessing relevant skills or experience in the field.

M.Com: To be eligible for admissions in the Master of Commerce program, applicants must have an undergraduate degree in Commerce or in any related domain. Merit marks are considered while selecting students based on their performance in the qualifying degree examination.

MTTM: MTTM admissions will be done for relevant Bachelor's programs, and merit will determine admissions based on undergraduate performance.
