Affiliated with a college located in Thalacode P.O., Mulanthuruthy, Ernakulam, Kerala, this Nirmala Training College, Ernakulam, was established in 2005. This is an NCTE-recognised institution, dedicated to providing teacher education. The college is located on a 5-acre land, and it has a total student training of 92 for its Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programme. Currently the college has 8 faculties which give a healthy student-teacher ratio so as to facilitate more personal attention for each of the students who wish to become a teacher.

Available facilities in the college proactively support the learning environment of the college students. This library, with qualified staff members, functions as a multi-faculty library, having ample stock of books and periodicals, national and international journals. Smart classroom facilities are available on the campus, and these depict the use of technology in the teaching and learning process. As per NCTE norms, a psychology laboratory has been set up to provide students a practical knotting on different psychological tests. The college also focuses on the all-round development of its students by availing sporting amenities as well as a huge auditorium for extracurriculars.

Nirmala Training College provides the B.ED programme which is a full-time course spread over two years and is the only course offered by the college. This helps the college to direct its efforts and work towards the provision of quality teacher education. The programme currently has an approved annual student intake of fifty (50), which is a reasonable standard in order to allow proper learning and student-teacher interaction.

Admission policies of Nirmala Training College follow the policies issued by the state government and UT administration as well as the affiliated university. Admission to the course is given based on the percentage of marks scored in the qualifying examination and/or entrance test.
