Nitte Institute of Communication (NICO) is the constituent media and communication institute of NITTE (Deemed-to-Be) University, which is ‘Grade A’ accredited by NAAC. Started in 2012, Nitte Institute of Communication is situated in Mangluru, Karnataka and offers a range of degree and diploma programmes at different levels. NICO is the only media and communication institute certified by Godox Photo Equipment Co. Ltd.

Candidates can apply for admission to BA (Hons.) Media & Communication at the undergraduate level, MA (Media & Communication) at the postgraduate level, PG Diploma in Media and Communication and PhD programmes at NICO Mangluru. The selection of candidates to the courses available at Nitte Institute of Communication is completely merit-based in the qualifying examination.

A 30 day compulsory internship is part of the curriculum in both the BA and MA programs. This happens after the completion of the second year (for BA students) and the first year (for MA students). A study tour is also offered by the Institute to the final year BA and MA students, who participate in the International Film Festival of India, which is held in Goa in November every year.

Nitte Institute of Communication is fully equipped with all the modern and necessary facilities for the media and communication students. At NICO Mangluru, the Nitte Film Society, Environment Club, Theater Club, Photography Club, and Literary Club are available so that students can get all the exposure.
