About NPR College of Arts and Science College, Dindigul
NPR College of Arts and Science College (NPRASC) was set up in 2005 and is an NPR College affiliated college in Dindigul,Tamil Nadu. Based in a 10 acre compound, NPRASC covers a wide cluster of undergraduate and post graduate programmes. The college currently has a total student’s enrolment of 1,964 students, and teaching faculty of 51 members. Currently, NPRASC offers thirteen courses in six degree programmes in Computer Science and Information Technology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Commerce and Arts. There is almost equal distribution of male and female students as 687 of the students are male while 1,036 are female students.
NPR College of Arts and Science College possesses a set of new and comfortable facilities which facilitates the learning process of students. Emily is the college library, a house of knowledge which contain a large reading hall with the sitting capacity of 100 students and it is totally computerised with AUTOLIB software containing Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC). All the necessary laboratories for various fields of learning are provided for in the campus and students are free to learn through practicals and research. The campus as a whole uses wireless Internet connection with 100 Mbps effectively catering for academic activities such as use of internet in hostels. In terms of extra curricula arias, NPRASC provides an air conditioned auditeria that can hold three hundred people, and can also be used for such occasions. The college also cares for the student’s health having separate and well-equipped gyms for Boys and Girls besides the various sports facilities for boys such as an international tursted cricket ground.
Currently, the faculty of NPRASC comprises an array of courses that totals up to thirteen courses in number. These include 11 programmes at the bachelor’s level and 2 programmes at the master’s level, and all these are full time programmes. The Undergraduate courses include B.Sc Information Technology, Computer Science, Chemistry, Physics & Mathematics, BCA, B.COM Computer Application, Professional Accounting, BA English, BA Tamil. At post graduate level, the college provides Master of Science in Computer Science and Master of Computer Applications. By offering such a diverse range of courses it allows for a variety of areas in academics and career paths. Thus, in the academic year just completed, where NPRASC indeed noted a total of 1, 723 students graduating, 1, 718 of those from undergraduate studies, 5 from post graduate studies.
