Bachelor of Science in botany is a full-time three-year undergraduate degree course offered Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.

The department of Botany which began as a pre-university course was upgraded to the graduate level in 1960. It has evolved into a fully fledged department with facilities for research. There are 72 students at the BSc Degree Main level and 48 students at the subsidiary level. The department has 4 permanent faculty members. The laboratory staff includes 3 lab assistants and a herbarium keeper. The department offers courses at the degree level.


Eligibility Criteria

A person, who has passed Higher Secondary/Intermediate (10+2) with science stream or any other examination recognized as equivalent there to, shall be eligible for the course.

Admission Details

  • Students are admitted at the beginning of the first semester of the U.G. Courses.
  • All the merit admissions are through M.G. University Centralized Allotment process.
