Om Shanti College of Education was recognised in the year of 2006, situated at Kancheepuram of Tamil Nadu, currently recognised as one among the well reputed Colleges offering teacher training programmes. Established in Nemili Village, Sriperumbudur, this institution is a co-educational college which helps young people start their journey toward becoming educators. Being an affiliated college, it falls under a university system which is rather helpful in the case of the college as it provides compliance with set educational standards. Om Shanti College of Education at present only provides one specialisation, that being the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed). This is a two-year full time course that aims at producing competent and emotionally charged teachers. The college was granted permission to enroll 100 students per year; however, the college has a student-friendly faculty ratio since it only hires 15 full-time teachers. This makes it possible for stakeholders to personalise their interaction with and support to any would-be teacher separately. The B.Ed programme is available for about ₹80,000, and therefore selecting such a programme is investing in the future profession of an educator.

The admission requirements at Om Shanti College of Education include the students passing various qualifications based on merit as a result of their performances. GCC students are selected on merit according to the marks obtained in the qualifying exams or end entrance tests/other guidelines prescribed by state Governments and Universities.
