The Oriental Institute of Science and Technology is a co-ed, private institute that is a constituent college of the Oriental University, Indore. The university is the first private university in Indore. The prime objective of the Oriental Institute of Science and Technology (OIST, Indore) is to update and modernise the quality of professional education. The college offers 3 degrees and 33 courses for students to choose from. The degrees offered include a diploma, B.Tech, and M.Tech. The discipline of the engineering programme is broad and encompasses a range of more specialized fields of engineering. 

The courses offered are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The admission into the courses is based on the national level entrance examination-JEE or on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination. Before applying for any particular program, a candidate must meet the eligibility criteria set by the university. All admissions will be in accordance with the rules and regulations set by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The institute has its own placement department. The institute offers its students a lot of facilities. These include- hostel facilities, transport facilities, a wi-fi campus, a medical room with health professionals, a cafeteria, gym facilities, a library, excellent IT infrastructure, and departmental-based laboratories.
