Paliwal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Panipat, was established in the year 2008 at Panipat, Haryana. This is an affiliated college located at Village Alupur and has a co-educational system offering various diploma courses in different streams of engineering. The faculty strength of the institution is 45, and the aim is to provide quality education to budding engineers. It has five diploma courses, out of which all are full-time programs. PIET has made a name for itself in the region as far as technical education is concerned.

The institute has various facilities to enrich the students' learning experience. Departmental laboratories at PIET are well-equipped so that the students get practical hands-on training. There are separate hostels for boys and girls to accommodate students who come from diverse regions. The auditorium provides a space for several events and seminars that allow for a lively campus life. Paliwal Institute of Engineering and Technology offers a total of five diploma courses, all of which are full-time programs. These programmes span across different branches of Engineering, offering its students a wide range of options to pursue interests. Since every course has an approved intake of 60 students, it sums up to a total of 300 seats across all programs. The institute is oriented toward diploma-level education with specialised training in Automobile Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.                         

Admission to the first year of Paliwal Institute of Engineering and Technology is primarily made on the basis of the Diploma Entrance Test conducted by the state. Candidates will be ranked according to their performance in DET. If there is a tie, it will be based on marks in Mathematics, Science, and English, in that order.
