The Polytechnic in Food Science and Home Economics, Anand Agricultural University, Anand is one of the pioneering colleges of this type. Established in the year 2008, it is one of the constituent colleges of Anand Agricultural University. This college situated at Anand in Gujarat is growing continuously to bring quality education at undergraduate and polytechnic levels in the fields of food technology and nutrition. The campus has an area of 0.5851 acres with classes held in an ideal learning environment. More so, with an enrolment of 84 students in total and a faculty strength reaching 4, the institute guarantees a high order in terms of student-teacher ratio, thereby conveying the benefits of personal attention and guidance.

Various facilities meant to enhance the learning processes of students are found within this institution. For example, there is a well-stocked library with books on subjects, periodicals, and journals linked with an e-cybrary having high-speed internet access. Institutes have also well-equipped laboratories with basic instruments, working tables, and display devices for practical training. The Polytechnic currently has one key program: A Diploma in Food Technology and Nutrition. This is a three-year full-time course. 

Admission to the Diploma in Food Technology and Nutrition is strictly based on merit criteria based on the qualifying examination; that is, S.S.C. and relevant norms. This allows only the most hardworking and deserving students with passion for food technology to have a chance of studying at the said institution. Since the college is a co-educational institution, students are admitted from both sexes, hence providing variety within the learning environment.
