Porukara College of Education affiliated toerala University is an aided college situated in Alappuzha District of Kerala state of India which started functioning from the year 2005. This institution offers a program of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) in teacher education. The college is located at the tranquil Gagultha Monastery Campus, Hurda with an overall student strength of 99 and 9 faculty members. Recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Porukara College of Education is dedicated to build the teachers of tomorrow.

There are various facilities that are in the college which are intended to facilitate better learning among the students. Co-curricular activities as afforded by our college sports, provide an excellent opportunity for physical fitness as well as mental development. In terms of practical learning, the institution offers departmental based laboratories.

Porukara College of Education offers a professional course B.Ed to prepare quality teachers for a competitive world. This, which is a two-year full course programme, has an approved annual student capacity of one hundred. This program aims to prepare potential teachers in terms of content, process and disposition for the teaching profession. Although at the present moment the college has only one main course, the curriculum and the practical focus provide the necessary preparation to the graduate to face the teaching profession.
