Pragati Women’s College of Education, Goa has been established in the year 2005 at Pernem, Goa which is especially designed to provide women’s education. This affiliated college the recognition of which has been provided by the National Council for Teacher Education NCTE offers specializations in teacher training programs. The total number of students that can be admitted to this college is 200, and the college has the faculty of 15 members that provide the learners with a limited chance to get the degree of an educator. The college is located at Mote Building, Rajwelwada, Torxem and it is provided exclusively for female students to support and encourage more women in Education field.

The Pragati Women’s College of Education is aimed to create responsible teachers through its Bachelors in Education (B. Ed) programme. This single subject, full time course takes two years to complete and is the heart of the college’s programme. The college has been approved for the intakes of one hundred students for the B.Ed program hence effectively contributing towards of shaping the educational face of Goa in the future. Teacher education is reflected in specialization of curricula and pragmatic teaching and training strategies of the institution.
