Rajalakshmi College of Architecture, also known as RCA, was set up in the year 2010 at Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu. They also have hostels for boys and girls, each in a three-story building with the capacity to house four hundred students each. Unlike most students, final-year and postgraduate students get the privilege of being allowed to live in single rooms. The college is blessed with a big library that occupies a total of 9000 sq. feet and contains over 52,600 volumes of books, ranging from textbooks, reference books, and national and international journals. It operates on an open-access system and remains accessible from 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM on working days. The institute has about 2000 PC’s and laptops connected through fibre optic links, enabling internet connectivity throughout the campus. Further, the RCA has created Wi-Fi facilities around the clock in hostels, cafeterias, seminar halls, and auditoriums to enable smooth connectivity.
Rajalakshmi College of Architecture offers several academic programmes, of which the Bachelor of Architecture is the flagship. This is a full-time course, which takes 5 years with an overall student enrollment of 60. The B.Arch programme has been implemented to impart deeper knowledge about different architectural concepts, their applications, and the methods of designing them.
The Rajalakshmi College of Architecture provides admission through national-level entrance tests. The institute considers scores that are obtained from the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) and the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main).
