About Rajasthan College of Agriculture, Udaipur

Rajasthan College of Agriculture (RCA), a constituent college, was established in 1955 for imparting education in the agriculture discipline. Located in a large area of 242 acres, RCA is an ICAR-recognized institute providing a number of agricultural courses. The college organizes forty faculties in total where it offers a total of twenty-eight courses from four degree levels, and one of the primary focuses is on the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. RCA has a strong faculty of 209 members to provide quality education to the students of its mixed population of 662 teachers; 30 percent of the students are postgraduate students, and the rest, 70 percent, are undergraduate students.

Currently, RCA provides almost all types of facilities that may be needed for its academic courses and complements students’ education. It possesses a convenient college library for learners and offers agricultural literature and various research resources. Modern laboratories are developed for each department, allowing getting practical experiences and conducting experiments. IT solutions in the college create a platform that enables students to communicate and access electronic information. For the total development, RCA offers facilities for sports for the development of sportsmanship, health, and nutrition amongst students. The college also provides alumni associations for health care colleges, which is a very important element to find a job as well as to make new relations. A comfortable classroom and a health centre with basic first aid facilities enhance students comfort and learning.

The college is currently offering 1 undergraduate, 13 postgraduate, and 14 doctoral programmes in different areas specialised in agriculture and its related disciplines. The B.Sc. Agriculture (Hons) is the university’s flagship undergraduate programme, for which 110 students are admitted. Postgraduate teaching involves the award of the M.Sc. degree in various fields, including agronomy, plant pathology, and molecular biology and biotechnology, for 3–9 students in each programme. The college also offers the Ph.D. programmes in many agricultural sectors, promoting research and academic advancement.
