Rajiv Gandhi College of Education, a teacher training college, was established in 2004 at Bhadravathi in Karnataka state of India. This co-educational college started at Kuvempu University, Shimoga, aims to produce talent and develop the potential of future educators. It is an NCTE-approved institution functioning from a cramped 1.15-acre of land. Currently, the total enrolment of the institute is 176, with a faculty capacity of 5, making the educational learning environment compact enough.

Rajiv Gandhi College of Education, Tumkur, is affiliated with Kuvempu University, Shankaraghatta. It is recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). As for the college infrastructure, the college has various facilities that will improve the learning ability of the students. A well-equipped library centre is very important as it offers access to key materials usable by future teachers. There are departmental laboratories on campus that facilitate practice and provide practical exposure to the students. In order to ensure the students have all-round development, the college provided sporting amenities and also provided encouragement for extracurricular activities.

Rajiv Gandhi College of Education thus has only one full-time course on offer: the Bachelor of Education [B.Ed] program. This program takes two years and has an approved intake capacity of one hundred students, which is in agreement with our policies of offering quality education with reasonable class sizes.

Admission to Rajiv Gandhi College of Education is strictly on merit and norms of Kuvempu University, Shimoga, and NCTE, New Delhi. The criteria for selection are mainly the marks scored in the qualifying examination.
