The college was established in June 1955 by poojya Sri.S .Kariappa. RES, Kanakapura is a private university affiliated to Bangalore University, Bangalore. The college provides courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level. RES, Kanakapura Ug courses include BCA, B.Sc, BBA, BA and B.Com. Also admissions to UG programs are offered to candidates who have cleared class 12th from a recognised board. All the courses are offered in full time mode only. The college also provides postgraduate courses to the students. RES, Kanakapura PG courses include MA and M.Com. Rural Education Society, Kanakapura PG admissions are offered to candidates who hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognised  board, also candidates must have cleared all the exams in order to be eligible for the admissions.
