The polytechnic named Sanjay Gandhi Government Polytechnic, Adilabad was started in the year 1980 situated at Kailasnagar, Adilabad, Telangana. Being an affiliated college of this government-owned polytechnic is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to deliver quality education in different engineering branches. Located on an area of 1.141 acres, the institute admits 532 students in total with 11 enrolled teachers and other employees. Currently the polytechnic offer four diploma programmes each branch of engineering those programmes offer different branches of engineering to fulfill the interest and career needs of the technicians.

Today, the institute is equipped with various facilities for the improvement of the learning process and personality development of learners. The campus comes with hosts for the male and female students to make the accommodation comfortable for whoever is interested in hostel accommodation in the campus. The four full- time courses are offered by Sanjay Gandhi Government Polytechnic, and it takes three years to complete each course. These programs include Diploma in Computer Science & Engineering, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Diploma in Civil Engineering. The maximum intake sanctioned for each course is 60 hence the cumulative total umber of programme seats offered is 240. These diverse area of engineering offers student to select an area of interest following the degree they wish to achieve in about an engineering career.
