Sankardeva Mahavidyalaya, Lakhimpur was established in the year 1982 and is an affiliated college based in Assam, India. The institute is spread over 19.66 acres of land, offering 10 undergraduate courses to its students in different streams. Sankardeva Mahavidyalaya runs a total of 10 undergraduate courses on a full-time basis. Among all courses offered by the institute, the BA programme has maximum intake with 400 seats, while other specialised majors usually have 55 seats each. These majors are available in subjects such as Sociology, Political Science, Assamese, Economics, English, Geography, Hindi, History, and Education. During the last academic year, all its courses together had a total student intake of 506. 

The admission process at Sankardeva Mahavidyalaya is merit-based and follows the State Government Rules and College Admission Rules. Prospective students are admitted on the basis of previous academic achievements in examinations. Notably, 100% share of students is from the same state.
