Saraswati Devi Mahila Mahavidyalaya is located in Maharajganj, and this woman's college was established in 2014. The institution is recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and provides lots of specialisation areas in undergraduate and postgraduate classes. The college is affiliated with Siddharth University, Siddharthnagar. The college is located on a piece of land which is 1.8582 acres and has an overall student enrolment of 1,075 and a faculty of 13 members. Saraswati Devi Mahila Mahavidyalaya offers 9 courses in different streams to fulfil the need of educated female students in this region, along with Arts, Commerce, Computer Application and teacher education. One of the goals of the college is to demonstrate commitment in delivering a favourable learning climate for the students.

Saraswati Devi Mahila Mahavidyalaya provides option facilities aimed at improving the learning process and its outcomes. In all these activities, the College Athletic Association is the responsible department of sports of the college that deals in sports-related activities like athletics, hockey, football, cricket, volleyball, swimming and kabaddi. These sports facilities play a great role in improving teamwork and leadership. The college canteen was opened in early 2003 for the fresh and routine requirements of the students and employees, especially for the first, second, third and final-year students who are day scholars and hostellers. Hostel accommodation for out-of-town students for both the boys and girls is housed separately within the university compound, has tight security, and the students are disciplined, with bathrooms proper within the room.

In total, Saraswati Devi Mahila Mahavidyalaya provides 9 programmes, out of which all are full-time courses. It offers a combination of Bachelor degrees and master's degrees and also a Diploma programme in the college. The D.El.Ed programme’s intake capacity is jointly reviewed and approved at 50 students only. The course that the institution provided includes Art, Commerce, Computer Applications, Business Administration, Science and Education with different course completions that can satisfy the most important academic goals of students. 

Saraswati Devi Mahila Mahavidyalaya has its own admission procedure for enrolling the students, which differs course-wise. In the case of B.Ed & D.El.Ed programmes, admissions are strictly merit-based with marks in the qualifying examination as well as the entrance examination. The college follows the policies of the state government, UT administration, and the affiliated university in its selection procedure.
