SBES College of Science was established in the year 1963 and is one of the best educational institutions located in Aurangapura, Saraswati Nagar, Aurangabad, Maharashtra. The institution is affiliated with BAMU Aurangabad. This affiliated college by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) offered a broad range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in many scientific disciplines. With an enrolment capacity of 759 and evenly balanced in gender at 773 males and 647 females, SBES College of Science, spread over a campus of 2.5 acres, goes on to have among the smallest faculties, with 15 dedicated faculty members on the rolls. It offers 15 courses spread over 4 degree programmes in fields like Computer Science, Electronics, Environmental Science, and Chemistry.

Its library is, containing a range of titles of reference books, dictionaries, and encyclopaedias. For sports enthusiasts, an international-level gymnasium houses three badminton courts, a multi-gym, and table tennis facilities. Its infrastructural support is equally impressive. SBES College has an air-conditioned computer laboratory supported by interconnected systems and printers as well as scanners whereby internet connectivity speeds are fast. The college gives campus life at the college cafeteria, providing hygienic snacks at reasonable prices. The holistic development at the college is well reflected in its modern auditorium and seminar hall equipped with all audio-visual equipment supporting events and academic sessions. 

The College of Science of SBES offers courses to the varied interests of students. There are 15 courses available, ranging from undergraduate up to postgraduate level and even to doctoral studies. B.Sc. in all fields and under the popular B.Sc. programme for Computer Science has 120 seats. There are 30 students in each of the following M.Sc. programmes: Analytical Chemistry, Computer Science, Electronics, Environmental Science, Information Technology, Organic Chemistry, and Mathematics. The college has also offered new B.Voc programmes in IT Skills and Software Development, Architectural Planning and Interior Design, Soil and Water Conservation Management, and Acting. For those interested in research, there are post-graduation Ph.D. programmes in Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physical Education, Library Science, and Marathi. 

The admission here is mainly on merit so that the candidate deserving of getting the chance to pursue his or her undergraduate programme in the area he or she wanted to be involved with gets the opportunity to do so. The undergraduate programmes, the B.Sc., of course, will undergo any rules and regulations that Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University has. It is merit-based, with procedures varying across departments.

The college provides scholarships to some students, with 474 of its undergraduate students and 130 of its postgraduate students receiving reimbursements in 2020.
