Mahatma Gandhi University in Kottayam's School of Computer Sciences is one of the most developing institutions in the field of computer sciences that was established in 1990. Located at the of Priyadarshini Hills in Kottayam, Kerala, the following affiliated college presents postgraduate and research courses in computer science. Due to the fact that it has a faculty strength of 4 members only the school is small and here the student gets a personal touch. The institution provides the 3 programmes namely Master of Science, Master of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science for students who wish to further their education and rendering research work in Computer science.

School of Computer Sciences has one of the best equipped facilities and setting to support the learning of its students. The institution accommodation facilities include well equipped laboratories, smart classrooms, virtual class setups, video conferencing facilities among others with computing facilities. In addition, two well-equipped computing laboratories are reserved for students and faculty members both to support different computing requirements. The labs are therefore connected using structured cables over a Local Area Network and the facility provides broadband internet connection. All students and members of the faculty are given a computer which eliminates issues with resource access. The school has also brought in-house developed software packages for automatic processing of admission process and examinations results for preparation among others.

School of Computer Sciencesboasts of a variety of programmes as per the its specialties in Computer Science. The M.Sc. Computer Science being a full-temp two year course has a total throughput capacity of 50 students. The University also offers the M.Phil Computer Science also a full-time two- year course for which 8 students are admitted.

School of Computer Sciences gives admission only to competent students hence, the competitive entry requirements. The Common Admission Procedure of the University is followed for offering admission in the M.Sc. course, and this examination is based on the scores obtained in the national level entrance tests. M.Phil programme also has its own separate admission process carried out for the school and include written examination and interview.
