Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTUH-SIT) is one of the reputed institute has been set up in the year 1985. This constituent college of JNTUH is in Kukatpally, Hyderabad and has as large area of 81 acres of land. JNTUH-SIT is affiliated with NAAC and recognized by AICTE, and has made its excellent academic recognition credible in India. Five post graduate programmes of the institute, four M. Tech specialization and an MCA course are offered to a total of 369 students. Currently, JNTUH-SIT has a faculty of 10 committed individuals and provides an affordable student teacher ratio to facilitate individual attention with quality education.
The new generation amenities of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University include the aesthetically appealing structures that offer rich learning environment and enriching experiences. Computer laboratories of the institute are endowed with centralized air conditioning, segmentation and modular furniture to accommodate 465 students in each laboratory. These are UPS enabled, connected labs having internet connectivity round the clock and data bandwidth of 40 Mbps. It is also the first of the government universities in Telangana to have full WiFi on the campus, including open spaces. Facilities include a library, and departmental teaching and research laboratories for instructional and research work. Students welfare is equally important and the institute has different hostels for boys and girls with approximately 800 and 530 student respectively. There is a health centre with 8 beds, a full-time Medical Officer, and a part-time visiting specialist who caters medical problems. For physical well being as well as for recreational activities, JNTUH-SIT has a Gym and Sports Association with basketball and volleyball courts and a cricket pitch.
The courses taught at the JNTUH-SIT to abide the growing needs of the IT sector. The institute offers five full time programmes, of which are two years duration each. These include four M.Tech specialisations: Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Networks and Information Security and Data Science each with 18 intakes respectively. Also, the annual intake of students in the Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme is 30. Altogether, JNTUH-SIT has a total of 102 seats as part of its various programmes that indicate zeal to cultivate a surplus of highly skilled IT professionals.
The admission procedure for this institute is very much strict and applicants are selected based on merit and the institute accepts the scores of the leading entrance tests in the country. For M.Tech admissions they have qualifying marks of GATE and for MCA admissions the qualifications are through TSICET.
