SECT College of Professional Education, Bhopal Admission 2025: Dates, Application Form, Courses, Fees & Eligibility

SECT College of Professional Education, Bhopal as an affiliated college of the National Council for Teacher Education. It offers various undergraduate and postgraduate programs in different disciplines. The admission procedure in SECT College aims at filtering deserving candidates purely on merit as per the regulation of the state government and the affiliated university.  Usually, the college starts its admission process in June-July for the respective academic year.  The candidate shall have completed his/her 10+2 from a recognized board for most of the undergraduate programs. It may differ for different courses; some programs may require different subject combinations in the qualifying examination. Normally, for all postgraduate programs, the applicant should have completed a bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university.

Application Process

Application follow the below-mentioned steps for SECT College of Professional Education, Bhopal.

1. Notification: Usually, in May-June, the college gives an advertisement announcing the admission schedule on the website and in various local newspapers for the next academic year to be held in August-September.

2. Application form: Candidates may collect the application form from the college campus or download it from the official website.

3. Filling Up of Forms: After collecting the application form, a candidate must fill it with personal and academic details. The candidate should check twice if all that stated above is correct.

4. Submission of Documents: Along with the duly filled application form, candidates must also submit:

• Passport-sized photographs
• Mark sheets of qualifying examinations (10th, 12th, graduation as applicable)
• Transfer Certificate from the last attended institution
• Character Certificate
• Caste Certificate (if applicable)
• Any other relevant certificates as specified by the college

5. Application Submission: After duly filling in the application forms along with the necessary documents, candidates should submit them to the college admission office before the specified date.

6. Entrance Test/Merit List: For the program entrance tests (like B.Ed), the candidates shall appear for examination on the specified date. For all other courses, a merit list shall be drawn up on the basis of earned marks at the qualifying examination.

7. Counselling and Seat Allotment: Shortlist candidates will be called for a counselling session, after which seats will be allotted based on merit and availability. 

8. Fees Payment: The selected candidates are to pay the prescribed fees on time to confirm his admission.

9. Document Verification: This is the final round of document verification, which will take place at the college prior to confirmation of admission.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Ed: Admissions into B.Ed. in SECT College is purely on merit -- taken as decided by the performance of the candidates from a qualifying examination and/or entrance examination according to the policy of the state government and the university. 

B.Com: Various directions are offered in B.Com such as Taxation, Advertising, and Computer Applications under various names. Admission for these programs is determined by the performance of the student in the 10+2 examination, focusing on subjects relevant to commerce and business studies. 

BCA and B.Sc Computer Sciences: Admission into any of the Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) and B.Sc Computer Sciences programs requires the candidate to have completed his/her 10+2 with Mathematics as one of its subjects. Selection is generally based on merit in the qualifying examination. 

BBA: The admission process for Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) is based on the performance of the candidate in the 10+2 examination, with preference to candidates from the commerce or business studies background.

B.Sc Programs: SECT College is offering B.Sc programs in various combinations such as Electronics, Chemistry-Botany-Zoology, and Physics-Chemistry-Mathematics. For admission into these programs, candidates must have qualified their 10+2 with science subjects.

M.Com and M.Sc Programs: Candidates for postgraduate programs like M.Com, M.Sc Computer Science, and M.Sc Mathematics are eligible to apply on completing the respective bachelor's degree. Usually, the admission criteria mention the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying degree examination.

PGDCA: Admission into the Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA) is open for graduates from any discipline, based on academic merit.
