Seth Soorajmull Jalan Girls College (SSJGC) is a premier centre of learning for women, located in pulsating heart of Kolkata, West Bengal. SSJGC offers a wide selection of undergraduate programs, including Arts and Commerce streams. Our compact 0.2647-acre campus is situated at 8/9 Bankim Chatterjee Street. Just off St. Paul's Cathedral Road, SSJGC has been shaping budding minds for almost 7 decades. At present, our student population is 1,143, and our teaching staff consists of 32 members, which provides quality gateway for learners.
A variety of facilities form part of this college to further enrich the learning experience of its students. Undoubtedly, a well-equipped computerised library is the lifeline source, with more than 26,000 book titles, journals, periodicals, and newspapers for ready reference, serving the academic purposes of both students and faculty. The campus is very good and provides all required information for students The infrastructure is excellent with very good lab facilities and well equipped library with many subscription to many research and journal websites

It is overall a good college. It is a girl's college and the college has all the basic necessities. There is a library which is quite informative. The college is always kept clean and the cleaning staff is really active in maintaining hygiene.
It offers a very study friendly environment.

I m very privileged to be in jalan college. It has the best faculties as well as facilities. Professors are very helpful and guide well. If we talk about infrastructure its it very good i. e library, reading room, office, common room etc. Every now and then cleaning staff clean the entire college makes it totally hygienic. Being a girls college it also has security, pad machine, supporting professors. The canteens provide the best service at reasonable prices and best quality food.
