MBBS at Shillong Medical College, Meghalaya Offline Course

ELIGIBILITY OF CANDIDATES FOR THE ‘STATE QUOTA SEATS’:

i. The candidate must be from a Scheduled Tribe or a Scheduled Caste (including Other Scheduled Tribes and SC) of Meghalaya, holding a valid certificate issued by the competent authority in the State, and a permanent resident of Meghalaya possessing a Permanent Residential Certificate (PRC) issued in

accordance with the Government of Meghalaya Political Department Letter No. POL.97/74/174 dated 10th July 1983.

ii. Academic Eligibility Criteria as per NEET Bulletin 2025:

Candidates shall be eligible for admission to the MBBS Course only if they have passed the 2nd Pre-University Course / Higher Secondary (10+2) / Equivalent Examination with English as one of the subjects and have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Bio-technology taken together. In the case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribe (ST), Scheduled Caste (SC), and Other Scheduled Tribe (OST) categories of Meghalaya, the minimum aggregate marks required shall be 40% in the aforesaid subjects.

iii. Other eligibility criteria:

The age of the candidate shall not be below 17 years on the 31st December of the year in which the admission shall be sought.

The candidate should be medically fit and certified by a medical board constituted by the Health & Family Welfare Department, Meghalaya.
