Shivam College of Education, Sangrur was set up in the year 2005 that is considered an institute specializing in providing training to the prospective teachers. S.D. College of Education is a coeducational college which is established at Khokhar Kalan, Taluka Sangrur - Pakistan Punjab and this college has discount on 5 acres area. It has the recognition from the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) due to the college affiliation to the university system that guarantees quality Education. 

Currently the institute teaches a total of 422 students through three full-time courses, these courses are backed up by 22 highly-qualified educators. Established to focus on the training of teachers, Shivam College offers a number of courses such as B.ED, M.ED, MA Education that will meet the needs of teachers in training. The college provides several facilities in its premise that is supposed to enrich the knowledge of the learners. Every academic facility has a resourceful library stocked with Indian and International authors’ works and number of references, encyclopedias and dictionaries. These resources are used bascilary in schools and recommend for students to apply in their studies daily.  The library is open till 5 in the evening; therefore, it is more than enough time for studying and research. The institution also provides standard laboratories fitted with modern apparatus/trials testing and researching equipment. Out of all instructional facilities of VSU, Social Studies laboratory is particularly praiseworthy, and a diverse treasure cart containing maps and globes, chart, and audio- visual facilities make the lab an inspiring place for budding social science teachers.

Shivam College of Education currently has only three courses on its offer, and these are Full time courses. Such include the Bachelors of Education (B.ED), Masters of Education (M.ED), and Masters of Arts in Education (MA EDUCATION). It is true that the college has total student intake of 422 across all courses and the management’s effort in trying to sustain a reasonable and favorable student facility teacher ratio. Though data on the performance of the recent graduating year is missing, the institute’s commitment to academic excellence and actual training prepares the learners for their roles in the education sector.

The admission procedure followed by Shivam College of Education also follows the Career marks in other qualifying examinations and/or entrance tests. In connection to the B.Ed program, admission depends on the candidate’s marks secured in the qualifying examination or entrance examination as per the rules and regulations of the state government, UT administration and the university with which the college is affiliated to. Consequently, the M.Ed admission also have merit base system with proviso of marks of the examination, entrance test, or any other method stipulated by the government and the university.
