Shivparvathi Mandradiar College of Education, situated in Palayakottai, was started in the year of 2004. It is one of the famous college specialised in teacher education. This co-educational college is affiliated, based in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu and recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Located in a large 8 acre compound, the college has two degree specialisation in the field of education. The institute has a total student intake of 92 and a total faculty of 19 hence making it easier to balance the student to teacher ratio.

The programmes for both tracks take two years and offer all the necessary preparation on how to become an effective teacher. The B.Ed fee structure is ₹80,000, and the M.Ed fee structure is ₹ 70,000. These courses are intended to provide the learners with the knowledge and skills for performing well within the field of education.

Based upon the marks in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination, Shivparvathi Mandradiar College of Education select students through merit. In selection for the B.Ed programme, the admissions are done with regard to policy formulated by state government, UT administration and the university.
