Shree Kaniram College, Kekar, Barmer, established in the year 2015, is an affiliated college. Despite it is still young institution, it has been fast-growing and gaining a reputation as one of the educational institutions in the region. Ideally located in a plot of 2.29 acres, the college has a narrow range of three undergraduate programmes. In all, Shree Kaniram College has a total of 738 students and a total number of faculties are 15 hence we have a small class size. The education college has been granted accreditation from the National Council for Teacher Education or NCTE to ensure quality education in the teacher education course.

Shree Kaniram College is equipped with facilities that are meaningful towards the improvement of the students. It has a well-stocked library acting as its knowledge base through books, textbooks, reference books and magazines from different fields. Shree Kaniram College offers three full-time undergraduate programmes: BA, B.Sc, and B.Ed. The BA programme which has been approved with a total intake capacity of 320, is the largest programme best suiting the college’s focus on humanities and social sciences. Another programme known as Bachelor of Education widely offered to students intending to become teachers, has a student intake of 100. Each of them is designed as a full-time course; students get an all-round education, and everyone meets faculty face to face most of the time.

Even for admission, the process is different depending on the course of study at Shree Kaniram College, an affiliated college of Jai Narain Vyas University. For the B.Ed programme, there is competition because the college admits students who have met the required cutoff marks. Applicants are supposed to clear the Pre Teachers Entrance Examination (PTET) conducted by a university as per NCTE. This examination produces its results which are printed in leading newspapers and dates of counselling sessions.
