The origin of the educational trust Shree Nootan Kelavani Mandal can be traced back in the 1956, when its pioneers like Late Shree Morarji Desai, the ex-Prime Minister of India, Late Shree Siddharthbhai Lalbhai Sheth, and Shree Kantilal Ranchhodji Desai succeeded in accomplishing their long cherish dream of providing opportunities of higher education to the socially backward communities of Valsad District. The trust made a humble beginning by initiating Shree Nootan Kelavani Mandal Arts and Science College in 1957. Their efforts got tremendous response from the people and need for establishing a Commerce College was soon realised. Consequently, the trust made an inclusion of a Commerce College with Arts College in the year 1964. The N. K. M. Science College was renamed as B. K. M. Science College in the year 1964. Besides above Shree K. M. Law College was established in the year 1965. Shree Nootan Kelavani Mandal School of Nursing came into existence in year 2011 with General Nursing and Midwifery Programme and Basic B.Sc Nursing programme was started in year 2019.

N.K.M. School of Nursing has established with exellent infrastructure located in the heart of Valsad city 3 km away from Central Bus station. Institute have well equipped class rooms, laboratories, library, auditorium which are spacious, ventilated and with good seating facility. Highly qualified teaching faculties are available to deliver knowledge and supervising clinical practice. 

Shree Nootan Kelavni Mandal School of Nursing is recognised by Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi and Gujarat Nursing Council, Ahmedabad for its 50 seats. After completion of the 3 years course, student gets a registration of Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM). Our institution is a professional school, which functions within the framework, philosophy and Ethics of Nursing Profession guided by Indian Nursing Council and Gujarat Nursing Council.

Admission is on merit as per guidelines issued by the Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi; the Admission Committee for Gujarat Professional Nursing and Allied Medical Educational Courses, Government of Gujarat; and the Gujarat Nursing Council, Ahmedabad.
