About Shree Vidyadhiraj Polytechnic, Kumta

Shree Vidyadhiraj Polytechnic Institute located in Kumta was established in 1985 to impart higher education in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka state. The institute is accredited by AICTE New Delhi and is affiliated with the Directorate of Technical Education, Bangalore, and the Board of Technical Examinations. In the beginning, there were only 3 courses- Mechanical engineering, Civil engineering, and Electronics & Telecommunication engineering. But now the institute provides 2 additional courses namely, Computer Science & Engineering and Automobile Engineering. It is a government-aided private college. The degree offered is a diploma in various engineering disciplines and is available in full-time mode only. The institute provides its students with multiple facilities on the 10-acre campus. These are spacious halls, laboratories, a sports ground, a well-built library, a canteen, on-campus medical aid, a good IT infrastructure, and separate hostel facilities for accommodating both boys and girls. There is also an active training and placement cell in the college.
