Shri KG Nadgir College of Physical Education, Dharwad is the oldest institution for physical education, having its foundation in the year 1974. This co-educational college is situated in Maratha Colony, Dharwad, Karnataka and occupies an area of 3.24 Acres. It is anchored by a College and an Institute which provide quality education, as evidenced by the Membership and Accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). It also like any affiliated college runs under National council for Teacher Education (NCTE) so that it complies with the standard norms of Education of the country.

In this regard, the college has put in place a number of amenities which facilitate the learning of students. A gym provides for physical fitness requirements The library stocks 2, 376 titles and 3, 919 copies under B.P.ED. section and 2, 736 genera books. The Shri KG Nadgir College of Physical Education, being a specialised college, offers the following programme as its flagship product: The Bachelors of Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) This is a two-year full-time course and has an approved capacity of 100 students. The total number of students to be enrolled in the college is 41, while the faculty strength of the college presently comprises of only 5 members, which will help to give personal attention to each child and also help in providing quality education to them. Even though the college is primarily a physical college focusing on physical education, it indeed aims at a holistic approach through its structural and functional infrastructure.
