Shri Malliyappayya Swami College of Education, Bagalkot, Karnataka, is one of the oldest and renowned colleges strengthening teacher education in India. Founded in 2005, this affiliated college has prepared future educators for nearly two decades of practice. Located in a 5.2 acre complex, Kamloops is an ideal place to learn and transform. Due to an aggregate student enrollent of 200 and with a teaching staff of 16 members, the institute provides individual care and quality education. Recognising the college’s dedication to keeping high standards in teacher training, it is approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

At present, Shri Malliyappayya Swami College of Education offers one main course for its students which is Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) only. This course is a full title and goes for two years; the intake capacity that has been approved is one hundred students. In pursuing its objective of producing qualified teachers, the B.Ed  is structured to provide the intending teachers with knowledge, skills, and skill-in-interaction that would allow them to practice teaching effectively. Though the college targets this specialised teacher training programme, the institution has made sure that it displays quality, rather than quantity in its programmes.
