Shri Narayan Prasad Awasthi Government Ayurved College, Raipur, was established in the year 1950. This affiliated college is located near RK College on the Great Eastern Road, sprawling over an area of 89 acres. The institution offers 14 courses across 4 degree programmes, with a total student enrolment of 346 and a faculty strength of 64. 

The CCIM-approved institution provides for an all-rounded Ayurvedic education, including the flagship BAMS programme and various specialised courses at the level of MD Ayurveda. Shri Narayan Prasad Awasthi Government Ayurved College runs a varied number of Ayurveda courses. The institution offers 14 courses at undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma levels. It offers various MD Ayurveda specialisations in disciplines such as medicine, Samhita and Basic Principles, anatomy, pharmaceutics, pathology and diagnostic procedures, and matrix medicine and pharmacology.

The admission process in Shri Narayan Prasad Awasthi Government Ayurved College is by a merit list, entrance examination process. Candidates have to qualify for the BAMS course in the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET). MD and MS courses at the postgraduate level are offered in accordance with the All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test. For the diploma course, marks obtained in the +2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects from the Higher Secondary Examinations conducted by the Chhattisgarh Government will be considered.
