Shyama Devi College of Education, Barabanki, was started in the year 2016 and it is a Co-educational college situated in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India. This affiliated college recognised by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) provides a Bachelors degree programmes. Lantern college is a tiny college on a one-acre location with an aggregate student enrolment of 200 and has a 21 membered faculty. It offers four degree programmes in its programmes and specialities in education, arts, and sciences. The overall vision and mission of the Shyama Devi College of Education is to offer its students quality education as it seeks to produce professional teachers and other fully employed citizens. 

Located in the library, a pillar of academic materials with a collection of 4,200 textbooks, scientific journals, and daily newspapers together with internet facilities. An indication of the Shyama Devi College of Education’s effort in the area of technology can well be illustrated in the computer lab that is well equipped with modern hardware and software to impart a basic IT skills. In as much as the college prepares qualified educators for the teaching profession, the college offers departmental laboratories to enhance practice. Gymnastics facilities were availing to students for their physical health while Auditorium is used for different functions and seminar. The campus has also provided accommodation facilities for the guest house to accommodate the visiting faculty and a health centre where first aid can be easily accessed by all members of the faculty. This is an Affiliated College of Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University, Faizabad.

At present the Shyama Devi College of Education provides a total of four courses, all of which are full time specialisation. B.ED, DIploma in Elementary Education (D. El. Ed.), Bachelor of Arts ( B.A) and Bachelor of Science ( B.Sc.), are offered programmes offered at the college.  Although exact information regarding its graduates are impossible to be found, the college leadership’s concern in achieving and sustaining a right student-teacher ratio speaks volumes of its desire to provide quality education and personal attentiveness.
