Sonawati College of Education, Samastipur, was initiated in the year 2017 for co-education of students who want to take up teaching as their profession. The affiliated college is situated in Bingama, Jalalpur, Samastipur, Bihar, and works under the approval of NCTE. The College spreads over a compact 1-acre campus, and offers two full-time education programmes with an enrolment of 400 students. With a faculty strength of 32 members.

The institution has manifold amenities for the support of students in learning and development. The well-stocked library in the campus functions as a knowledge center for the aspiring teachers. A canteen in the campus caters to the need of the staff and students. Sports facilities and well-equipped classrooms complete these facilities and provide an all-round educational atmosphere. Departmental laboratories help hands-on learning, while an auditorium offers space for events and seminars. It has excellent IT infrastructure, as demanded by the modern-day demands of education.  

Sonawati College of Education has two extensive teacher trainings. Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed). Both of these are regular courses extending two years each and preparing the students for a successful career in education.

Sonawati College of Education's admission is strictly based on merit, a fact that confirms the commitment towards excellence in academics. Admissions to the B.Ed. programme will be done based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and entrance examination, subject to the policies framed by the state government and affiliated university. The admission procedure in a D.El.Ed course, in general, is also merit-based and is presently based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination and entrance examination, as per the State Government/UT Administration.
