South East Manipur College, which commenced in 1981, is an affiliated college situated at Komlathabi, Chandel District, Manipur. Located in an 8-acre campus, the institution provides a vast area of undergraduate programmes. Affiliated to the Barkatullah University Bhopal, the college is NAAC accredited, having a strength of 2087 students and 87 Faculty members. South East Manipur College offers 20 programmes in 6 disciplines namely arts, science, vocational, etc. The college maintains about sex differentiation with 57% of male students and 43% female students and all of them are from Manipur state only.

This college embraces a broad learning model that the students of the institution will be privileged to learn about. They include: It has diversified facilities to encourage academic as well as personality developments. The learning institution has accommodation facilities for boys and girls as a way of providing adequate accommodation to those students from distant areas. A standard library having updated text and reference books To and along with internet facility act as an information centre for the students and faculties. The college also provides laboratory facilities for most departments for practical experiences and research purposes. Concerning the students’ health, an exercise facility for bodybuilding as well as workout facilities are available on the campus. The IT facilities help students have interaction with present-day technology, though a cafeteria takes care of their feeding systems. Further, the college also has enough parking space for the use by the faculty, staff and college students.

South East Manipur College has a total of twenty undergraduate courses, out of which all are only full-time. The courses offered cut across Arts, Sciences, Computer Applications, and Vocational areas of specialisation. The college offers usual B.A and B.Sc. courses combined with honours in Political Science, Economics, Manipuri, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Physics, Anthropology, Mathematics, Environmental Science, English, Education, History, Sociology and Physical Education, etc. Moreover, the college contains a three-year BCA course and two B.Voc courses in Food Processing and Engineering and Information, I.T. Services. 

South East Manipur College has indeed remained the prominent college of South East Manipur today and it indeed is continuing to make lots of contributions to the youth of Manipur to pursue higher studies.
