Sri Manakula Vinayagar School of Architecture or SMVA, is a budding, architectural school situated in Puducherry and was set up in the year 2017. It is an affiliated college situated in Madagadipet, Mannadipet Commune and is approved by the Council of Architecture, and therefore, the college has offered quality education in the field. The school only has one programme with the name Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) and the approved size per year is forty students. At present, it boasts of a faculty size of fourteen members making sure that the institute btings  out a desirable student teacher ratio.

It has survey lab, material museum lab, carpentry lab, climatology lab and CAD lab is available for the students to get the first-hand experience necessary for them in order to be architects. The structured Sri Manakula Vinayagar School of Architecture, however, has only one full-time course in Architecture, Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.). This is a five-year programme intended to produce graduates conversant with architectural theories, concepts, and practical applications in the profession. According to the current rules of admissions the programme has an intake of forty students and thus the class size is small which affords the students individual contact with the faculty members. 

Admission to Sri Manakula Vinayagar School of Architecture is based on institutional norms as prescribed for the management of courses related to architectural studies in the country. Candidates seeking admission to the campus must satisfy each one of the following requirements for English & Communication Skills and a recognised aptitude for Architecture through a test such as NATA or an equivalent test. The institute also accepts scores from the Joint Entrance Examination or JEE Main Paper-II as some may prefer to call it. Among these, the entrance exams help in measuring the candidates’ abilities, for architectural studies and are part of the tests that are administered to them . The academic time-tables as also the particular admission procedures normally correspond to either the National Aptitude Test in Architecture or the Joint Entrance Exam Main, but in some cases, detailed dates may differ.
