Sri Raghavendra College of Education is a pure affiliated college situated at Dindigul District, Tamil Nadu, was established in the year 2007. This co-educational university is located in an area with a land area of 6.97 acre and prepares future educators. National Council for Teacher Education recognized the college and the college follows quality standards in teacher education. This college has got an intake for 81 students and faculty of 8 which is quite small and provides proper attention on the students. Currently, the institute offers two specific education courses that prepare the aspiring teachers for various levels.

What make this college unique include ; That is the list of college facilities for the provision of students’ academic and personal needs. Duly equipped library plays an important role in the centre as it acts as repository of many useful references. Facilities available include a health center for treatment of minor ailments, infirmary and clinic. The general sports facilities are provided for all students, for physical development and or recreational activities. Facilities: The college has adopted modern methods of learning, and its Information technology helps fulfill students learning processes; laboratories help the fulfillment of practical exercises in various colleges.  An auditorium exists for holding events and seminars to promote an active student life on campus. The college also has different hostels for male and female students, which consists of students from different part of the country. On the compound there is a canteen that supplies food and drinks to the staff members as well as the students. For visitors, there are facilities like a guest house and waiting room so that guests for faculty or students’ families have to wait comfortably.

At present, Sri Raghavendra College of Education imparts two full time courses in education stream. The available intake of the courses is as follows; For the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) program the intake capacity is 100 and the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) program has a take capacity of fifty. Both programs are aimed tailored to ensure that students acquire the relevant knowledge and practical teaching competencies required in the teaching practice. It is by having two central programs that the college is able to provide specialized emphasis on preparing teachers at both the bachelors and diploma leve. Intakes of each course are 75 with a total of 150 students which this institute wishes to produce well trained teachers to boost education sector.

Sri Raghavendra College of Education has merit admission procedure, students having better marks in their qualifying examination and/or entrance examination are admitted in this college. The college will admission policies of the state government of Tamil Nadu and the concerned university for selecting students. For the B.Ed programme, the admission is done according to the marks of the candidate in the qualifying examination /entrance examination/any other mode as per the norms of respective state government and the university.
