The institution was established in 1970 as Sri S.Ramasamy Naidu Memorial College is a leading affiliated college situated at Virudhunagar of Tamil Nadu state. The institution which is spread over a vast 48 acres area provides 48 programmes under 9 degree programmes. The college currently has total students enrolled of 3725 and a total of 122 faculty members thus in terms of student faculty ratio it is very good. The institute is fully affiliated to National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) for maintaining quality education. The college has also achieved a major gender diversity whereby 64% of its undergraduate students and 82% of the post graduate students are female.

The total intake approved throughout all the courses is 3725 seats which envisages the training of a large number of student population.
