Sri Sarada College of Physical Education for Women, Salem, was started in the year 1982 and is one of the pioneering institutions for women’s physical education in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. This affiliated college is located in Fairlands, Salem, and encompasses an area of 26.08 acres. Recognised by NCTE, the college provides specialisation in physical education and physical training. Thus, the institute has been intaking 90 students in total and has 10 faculty members. This makes it easier for the students to be attended to as well as receive quality training. Sri Sarada College of Physical Education for Women offers two full-time courses: a 3-year B.P.Ed. programme and a 2-year M.P.Ed. programme for female students who want to pursue their career in physical education & sports only.

Sri Sarada Education Society has a well-stocked sports library with the most up-to-date literature and professional journals on physical education. In order to ensure the efficient use of these resources, the college organises information literacy sessions for the first time in the semester, and those students who need extra information can arrange individual meetings.

This college is funded and run by the Sri Sarada Education Society and is exclusively for women dealing in two major courses. The B.P.Ed. is a 3-yr full-time programme with a 100 admission capacity, and the M.P.Ed. is a 2-yr full-time programme with a 100 admission capacity. The two programmes are to offer professional preparation in physical education by giving broad and intensive learning in the theory and practice of teaching, coaching, and sports administration.
