Sri Siddhartha Center for Media Studies, Tumkur, Karnataka, is an affiliated college that started its functioning in the year 2004. This is a private institute located in the over 52 acres, which focuses on the postgraduate programmes in media studies. The college is affiliated with Tumur University. The centre has a total intake of 73 students and faculty strength of 4 teachers, which create a professional setting for media students. The institute provides three full time courses for those students who are willing to study further in communication and electronic media.

The centre includes a tremendous number of facilities which help improve the outcomes of the students’ learning process. A well-stocked library is a learning resource centre with laboratories which include a CALL based language laboratory for practical use of communication skills as well as media software like Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw and Flash. Located on the campus is also an events and seminar facility, cafeteria, health centre with first aid facilities and modern computerised facilities. Concerning the health needs of students, Sri Siddhartha Centre for Media Studies provides sports amenities and a facility for a gym. While there are standard hostels for the students, there are, however, specific hostels meant for either male or female students to enhance the comfort we seek in our hostels.

Sri Siddhartha Centre for Media Studies provides three undergraduate and postgraduate courses, which are full-time programmes with a duration of two years each. While the M.Sc. Communication course can accommodate 30 students, the BA in Journalism, Kannada, Psychology, the M.Sc. Electric Media can take 30 only, making a total of sixty. These programmes are developed to provide students with the specialised knowledge and skills necessary for successful operations within the enthusiastic media industry.
