Sri Venkataramana Swamy College, Bantwal, was started in 1968 as an affiliated college situated in Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka. This is an institution based in a 10 acre compound that provides undergraduate and post graduate programmes. It boasts of 669 students enrolment and 34 members of faculty, this assures students get the best environment to learn. Sri Venkataramana Swamy College’s course structure also includes under graduate as well as post graduate programmes. It has 9 full time courses offered within the institution cutting across different discipline areas. These include Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) with majors in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Botany, Zoology and Chemistry, Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), and Master of Commerce (M.Com). Further, the college provides a B.Sc in Interior Design and Decoration and Diploma in Interior Design and Decoration for students who have passion for creativity. The total number of admitted students at the degree level is 669.

Admissions in Sri Venkataramana Swamy College are stricted based on merit list as per the rules and regulations prescribed by the government. Undergraduate courses, the department makes a provisional admission based on the performance of the candidate at course level and other activities as presented in the application. For admission to the post graduate courses, especially M.Com, all the candidates are expected to have passed a three year degree examination conducted by any University listed under the UGC Act or any other examination understood as equivalent to the above said examination by Mangalore University. The college keeps its policy amicable toward the students, and there are no unfair practices done for admission process.
