Sri Venkateshwara College of Arts and Science was started in the year 1998 with the vision of being a co-educational institution, situated in Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu  The college occupies in a 5.43 acre campus and takes pride in having fifteen different courses in nine degree programmes. The institute offers the required parameters for student learning with an enrolment of 1,223 students and a faculty of 67 members. The college has various fields of specialisation in Arts, Science, and Management to allow the college to address the needs of its diverse student population.

Sri Venkateshwara College of Arts and Science has some facilities fit for improving the learning process of its students. The library is an academic reference centre to where students go with books to assist them in their research. It owns a cafeteria in which the students can have sometime to eat and also interact with one another. An auditorium different seminars and events that are conducted and help towards an active student life. There are sports facilities for those people who prefer active type of recreation. The college also lays so much emphasis on the advancement in technology by having poor IT infrastructure. Specialised laboratories exist to address practical learning requirements where student benefiting from this structure inclined towards science related courses. In addition, in terms of infrastructural facilities, the transport facilities provide by the institute facilitate easy transportation of students as well as the staff members. Sri Venkateshwara College of Arts and Science admits students for 15 courses out of which some are undergraduate and others are post graduate. The courses are spread with across disciplines like Arts, Commerce, Science and Management Streams. This college provides a number of subjects for study at the under graduate and post graduate level streams. Some of them include first-degree programmes which include BA, B.Com, B.Sc, BBA, BCA and second degree programmes such as MA, M.Com, M.Sc, and MBA. All of the programmes that are offered are day programmes allowing the students to gain rich exposure in their respective fields of specialisation. The total gross strength for the intake of students is 1,223 and considering the need for a right mix of students and faculty the institute aims to maintain a proper student teacher ratio.
