About Bharathidasan University
The revolutionary poet "Bharathidasan" served as the inspiration for the 1982 establishment of Bharathidasan University (BDU) in Tiruchirappalli. Palkalaiperur, a 1000-acre region, is home to the university's main campus, which is encircled by lush vegetation. The Indian Institute of Management, Tiruchirappalli, has been given a relatively minor portion of the university. This is the independent post-graduate centre of Tiruchirappalli's Bharathidasan University. There are schools for maths, chemistry, life sciences, physics, geosciences, social sciences, basic medical sciences, languages, and other subjects at BDU Tiruchirappalli. The university offers 151 programmes, 40 of which are graduate programmes in M.A., M.Sc., and M.Tech. According to the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS), the programmes are offered semester-wise; the university also offers 15 UG and 26 PG distance-based education programmes, 10 certificates, 11 diplomas, 31 M.Phil., 19 PG Diplomas, and 33 PhDs. This University has great infrastructure like gardens , well furnished classrooms, large play grounds that provides both indoor as well as outdoor games. It has a well equipped lab facilities with a better maintenance weekly and monthly.
