Sri Venkateswara College of Education is one of the premier institutions located in Thanjavur which was started in the year 2007 to build a better tomorrow. This co-educational institution is established in V. M. Krishnamoorthy Nagar, Peravurani, Thanjavur, and the college spreads across a sprawling area of 15 acres of land. The institute has accreditation for quality and academic standard from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Besides, since its affiliation to a college, it receives approval from the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) to meet the standard set within the nation’s educational systems. At present, the college has 3,959 students enroled and 117 faculty members to provide a supportive learning atmosphere to those who seek to be educators.

Sri Venkateswara College of Education has facilities that can help improve the learning process of the students in college. At present, Sri Venkateswara College of Education consists of only one full-time course, which is the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course. This two-year programme has an intake capacity of hundred students in each stream and it has been prepared with the policy of controlling the class strength to uphold the quality of the college outcome. The concept for the B.Ed. programme is to prepare students to become effective teachers for the contemporary educational environment. Although the college offers this degree programme with a very specific focus, the strong curriculum offers learners all they need as they join the education sector in the future.

The admission policy of Sri Venkateswara College of Education is based on merit fitness, the rules governing admissions as framed by the state government, U.T. administration, and the university to which the college is affiliated.
